This Privacy Policy applies to the CLZ Link website at https://clz.vn and the CLZ Link extension for Google Chrome.
2. Data We Process
CLZ Link only processes the data required to provide link shortening features, including:
- URLs entered, pasted, selected from the right-click menu, or taken from the current browser tab by the user.
- Custom short aliases entered by the user.
- Password protection values if the user chooses to protect a shortened link with a password.
- Shortened links and QR codes generated from shortened links.
- Recent shortened link history stored locally in the user's browser when using the Chrome extension.
3. How We Use Data
Data is used only for the core functionality of the service:
- Creating shortened links.
- Generating QR codes for shortened links.
- Copying shortened links to the clipboard when requested by the user.
- Displaying recent link history inside the Chrome extension.
- Verifying passwords when a user opens a password-protected shortened link.
4. Storage
Shortened links are stored on CLZ Link servers so they can redirect to the original URLs. If a user sets a password for a shortened link, the password is stored as a secure hash using PHP's password hashing mechanism. We do not store the password in plain text.
Recent link history in the Chrome extension is stored locally in the user's browser using Chrome Storage and is used only to display recent links inside the extension popup.
5. Data Sharing
CLZ Link does not sell user data, does not use user data for advertising, and does not share user data with third parties for purposes unrelated to link shortening functionality.
6. Chrome Extension Permissions
The Chrome extension may request certain permissions in order to work properly:
- activeTab: used to read the URL of the current tab when the user chooses to shorten the page they are viewing.
- storage: used to store recent shortened link history locally in the browser.
- contextMenus: used to add a right-click shortcut for shortening the current page or selected links.
- notifications: used to show a notification when a link is shortened successfully or when an error occurs.
- offscreen: used to support copying shortened links to the clipboard in Manifest V3.
- https://clz.vn/*: used to send URLs to CLZ Link and receive shortened link results.
7. Security
We use reasonable measures to protect data during processing. However, no method of transmission or storage over the Internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure.
8. Third-Party Websites
CLZ Link provides a tool for shortening and redirecting links. We do not control and are not responsible for the content of external websites that users shorten, share, or access through the service.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when necessary. The updated version will be posted on this page and will take effect when published.
